Centre now fully accessible to wheelchair users

We installed a wheelchair lift to the Upper Hall in 2006. Thank you to the funders of this big building project: Bridgehouse Trust, Awards for All and Lambeth Endowed Charities. Since then groups like Lambeth Family Link and Brixton Shed have been using the centre on a regular basis.

Centre refurbishment

The inside of the centre was totally transformed by the efforts of volunteers in 2007. The aim was to make the building more welcoming and attractive. TBG Learning provided two young learners on a work placement to paint and decorate the disabled entrance. Two corporate teams also responded to our call for help. Deloitte sent a team of volunteers to paint the Lower Hall and corridors. Diageo sent a team of volunteers to paint the Upper Hall and corridors. At Lambeth Country Show we met Michelle Howard, a local artist, who has done a fantastic job making door signs, creating noticeboards and beautiful fabric leaflet holders. Out thanks to all 49 volunteers for their time and support.
